Speaker

Dr Ho Chun Sing Maxwell is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership, an Associate Co-Director of the Academy for Educational Development and Innovation, and a Research Fellow at the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change at EdUHK. He is the recipient of the Michael Fullan Emerging Scholar Award (2023) and the Emerald Young Researcher Award (2021). Dr Ho has been reflecting on his experience as an EdD graduate and is eager to share insights on collaborating with supervisors to enhance academic development for doctoral students.

Abstract

In this presentation, Dr Maxwell Ho will share valuable lessons and strategies from his academic journey, aiming to guide and inspire doctoral students as they carve out their paths in academia. The talk will cover key aspects of successful doctoral studies, including choosing the right way to manage your supervisor, developing effective work habits, and fostering meaningful collaborations. Additionally, Dr Ho will discuss strategies for transitioning from studies to a successful early career in academia. Attendees will leave with practical advice and motivational insights that can be applied to enhance their experience and lay a solid foundation for their future academic careers.
