About the Speaker Professor Olga Kim holds the position of Vice-Rector for International Education and Youth Policy at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. She is a professional linguist, and holds a number of international certificates and has a teaching experience of more than 20 years in different universities in different countries.  
Abstract  This workshop gives the linguistic insight into academic writing. With deeper professional knowledge and understanding of the words and their use in different contexts, the researcher decides which writing tools would express studying results in the most convincing way. The seminar introduces some general information about academic writing and functional styles and focuses on analyzing lexicology, grammar and syntax as writing tools in the academic contexts. The seminar is aimed at helping students to overcome common mistakes while writing their scientific papers as well as facilitating writing process of students’ research.
