[1 Dec] EdUHK – IOE Winter Conference 2026
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the University’s Retitling, we are delighted to invite you to the 3rd EdUHK-IOE Joint Conference (Winter, 2026) on Leadership in Language and Culture: Trust, Truth, and Well-being in the Digital Sphere, scheduled for Tuesday, 1 December 2026. This event is co-hosted by the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), and the Institute of Education (IOE), University College London (UCL). This conference marks the third consecutive year of our joint collaboration, reflecting the deepening partnership and shared commitment between EdUHK and IOE-UCL in advancing research on language, culture, and leadership.
This conference will examine the critical intersections of Language, Culture, and Leadership, exploring how these dimensions interact to shape education, communication, and global collaboration in an increasingly interconnected and diverse world. This year’s iteration pays special attention to the digital sphere—a space where global connectivity meets new vulnerabilities. This 1-day joint colloquium brings together leading international scholars to critically examine the roles of trust, truth, and well-being at the nexus of language, culture, and leadership in today’s digital sphere!
We are pleased to announce that the conference will feature esteemed keynote speakers, including Professor Li Wei, Professor Zhu Hua, Professor Jim MckKinley, and Professor John O’Regan from IOE, UCL, alongside Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Professor Gu Mingyue Michelle, Professor Hans J Ladegaard, Professor Glenn Stockwell, and Professor Lin Mei Yi Angel from EdUHK.
The concluding session will include a special Smart Flash Conference session hosted by EdUHK’s Social Media Analytics Research Team (SMART), with short presentations (5–8minutes each) from Professor Chiu Ming Ming, Professor Lin Mei Yi Angel, Professor Gu Mingyue Michelle, Professor Chan Ka Shing Kevin, and Dr Leung Nga Man Angel. The SMART project develops evidence‑based interventions to tackle fake news, cyberbullying, stigmatisation, and fragmented attention, promoting safe, ethical, and effective social media use.
