MEd Students Connect with Peers and Academic Advisers at the “EdU” Venture Event
The Graduate School hosted three sessions of the “EdU” Venture event on September 11 and 12, welcoming the 2025-26 cohort of Master of Education students for networking and team-building activities. In the first two sessions, MEd Programme Director Dr Chris Tsang Yiu Fai emphasised that the event was a good opportunity for students to connect with peers and academic advisers. In the third session, the newly appointed Dean of the Graduate School (GS), Professor Junjun Chen, opened the event by reminding students to explore life beyond academia. The programme kicked off with an interactive Kahoot quiz, where participants learned useful information about the university campus and life in Hong Kong.
Colleagues from the Student Affairs Office also joined the event to introduce upcoming programmes and highlight the range of support services available to students. The SAO stressed the importance of scam awareness by gifting participants colourful stress cubes. The SAO’s Sports Development Section encouraged students to explore wellness activities such as yoga workshops, swimming lessons and University sports competitions.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, participants networked in small groups in a game requiring them to introduce themselves. They were then challenged to remember their peers’ names. The most active member of each group earned a prize.
The event culminated with a mingling session between the students and their respective area coordinators. Faculty members addressed area-specific concerns and offered guidance with support from Dr Tsang and Professor Chen. The three “EdU” Venture sessions served as a valuable platform for students and faculty to exchange ideas and prepare for the academic year. The networking activities enabled students to build relationships with peers and better understand academic expectations.
