Pastel Nagomi Art, a gentle therapeutic practice, was introduced to GS students in a hands-on, bilingual workshop. Founded in 2003 by Hosoya Norikatsu, the art form utilises colours, finger movements, and soothing music to create a calming environment.

During the workshop, instructors encouraged networking by asking participants to share their positive attributes with each other. They were then introduced to various tools as they experimented with them.

Part of the workshop addressed the concept of ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ in terms of being barriers to personal goals. Participants used their imagination to create their own “Yes” story. The activity emphasised that there is no right or wrong, which encouraged everyone to follow their hearts, appreciate life’s beauty, and express themselves freely.

After the creative session, students enthusiastically shared their artwork and the stories behind it. Many expressed interest in participating in future art workshops and even discussed strategies for promoting Pastel Nagomi Art in other educational settings.
