At the finals of the EdUHK 3-on-3 Basketball Competition, held on 6 March 2026, the GS Sharks (Graduate School Men’s Basketball Team) and GS Hawks (Graduate School Women’s Basketball Team) both secured second place, marking the Graduate School’s best-ever performance in this event. Staff and students alike demonstrated determination and teamwork, honing their competitive skills while forging valuable friendships.

The competition drew 12 men’s teams and 3 women’s teams from across the University. Graduate School students participated enthusiastically, with some inviting their lecturers to join. Professor Andrew Edwards and Mr Roy Chan Ching Yat from the Department of Health and Physical Education also took part.

Both teams performed admirably, progressing from the group stages and ultimately finishing as runners-up. Team members commented that building team spirit and competing together was a victory in itself. Professor Junjun Chen, Dean of the Graduate School, attended the event to support the teams and celebrate their achievements.

The event showcased the Graduate School’s passion for sport and sense of unity. Special thanks go to the Student Affairs Office for their support. The Graduate School will continue to encourage student participation in sports, promoting wellbeing and enriching campus life.
