The Graduate School celebrated the Year of the Horse with quizzes and activities on 5 February 2026. Nearly 170 Postgraduate students participated the event, which comprised two lively sessions held on campus, designed to cultivate a sense of community and enhance the festive atmosphere among participants.

Distinguished guests, including Professor Chen Junjun, the Dean of the Graduate School; Professor Lee Kwai Sang, Associate Dean of the Graduate School (Academic Development and Support); Professor Looi Chee Kit, Associate Dean of the Graduate School(Quality Assurance and Enhancement); and Dr Tsang Yiu Fai Chris, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, joined in the celebrations by extending their warm wishes and connecting with students.

Representatives from the EdUHK Mainland Alumni Association also joined the event. Mr Cai Zanyang, EdUHK Mainland Alumni Association Chairperson, and Dr Hwang Hao, Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the Doctoral Sub-committee, introduced the association and shared its work with the students. Participants then took part in a lively Kahoot quiz with fun questions inspired by the Year of the Horse. Prizes were awarded to the top three participants.

The celebration continued with a range of interactive booths that allowed participants to immerse themselves in the festive spirit. Colleagues from the Centre for Classical Chinese Education hosted a Chinese calligraphy booth, where students experienced traditional calligraphy and wrote their New Year wishes. Other booths offered hands-on craft activities, allowing all to create Lunar New Year decorations, such as horse-themed pendants, gold-foil paintings, and festive lanterns.

The Graduate School wishes everyone a joyful, healthy, and prosperous Year of the Horse.
