After Getting an Offer
Doctor of Education
Provision of documents upon offer of acceptance for Doctor of Education.
1. Document Submission Deadline
Please submit your supporting documents by the deadline stipulated in the offer letter.
2. Ways to Submit Your Documents
Hardcopy shall be directly sent to EdUHK:

Electronic transcript shall be directly sent by issuing universities to our email: edd@eduhk.hk
In some cases, it is acceptable to submit officially certified true copies of your documents issued by:
- a notary public (e.g. the District Offices in Hong Kong); or
- your current employer (e.g. principal of your serving school/HR department of your serving organisation). The documents should be officially signed and stamped
*Please do NOT send any original graduation certificate(s), which are difficult or impossible to replace, to the University in any circumstances as we will not be responsible for any documents mislaid. All documents will normally not be returned.
3. Documents to be Submitted
In general, you will be required to submit two types of documents:
- Document(s) certifying your personal information (e.g. HKID, mainland ID and/or passport, etc); and
- Official documents certifying your attainment of the required qualifications.
For Local Student, please upload a copy of your HKID onto your application account AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
For Non-local Student, please upload a copy of your passport, mainland ID, 港澳通行證, HKID, student visa / entry permit, IANG visa, dependant visa / entry permit (whichever applicable) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Note: To protect the privacy of individuals in relation to personal data, soft copy of your HKID / mainland ID / passport provided for registration will be removed/destroyed after the admission exercise.
*Failing to provide the required documents may result in your unsuccessful enrolment in the programme.
If documents provided are found to be falsified, unclear, misleading or inconsistent with the qualifications stated in your application, or do not fulfil the requirements for admission, your admission offer may be revoked and all paid fees will not be refunded. The University reserves the right to request you to present the original documents in person if deemed necessary.
4. List of Documents Needed for Verification
Please refer to the documents submitted in your application account, identify which of the following category you belong to and provide the required documents as stated in the Section (I), (II) or (III):
(I) Graduates of HKIEd / EdUHK
- If you are our graduate in 1995 or after, the University has your academic records. You do NOT need to submit any copies of academic transcripts or graduation certificates issued by HKIEd / EdUHK.
- For graduates of HKIEd / EdUHK postgraduate programmes (e.g. if you are graduate of our PGDE or master’s degree programmes), the University will retrieve the degree qualifications which you have submitted to EdUHK upon your last PG admission. However, any post-secondary qualifications or language test results obtained after your last PG admission should be submitted.
- The University reserves the right to request applicants to submit official academic documents or present those documents in ORIGINAL copy at a later stage if deemed necessary.
(II) Applicants from Universities in Mainland China
- If you obtained degree(s) from universities in Mainland China, you should possess both Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree Certificate (學士/碩士學位證書) and Bachelor’s / Master’s Graduation Certificate (本科/碩士畢業證書).
- Please upload an Online Verification Report of Higher Education Qualification Certificate (教育部學歷證書電子註冊備案表) issued by the CHSI (學信網) https://www.chsi.com.cn/xlcx/bgcx.jsp The report should be valid for six months. Please refer to this sample for reference.
- If you are currently in the final year of your Master study, please upload the Master’s Degree Certificate (碩士學位證書) and Master’s Graduation Certificate (碩士畢業證書), final transcript and the Online Verification Report issued by CHSI to your online application account in July.
- The University reserves the right to request applicants to submit an officially certified true copy of those documents or present those documents in ORIGINAL copy (原件) at a later stage if deemed necessary.
- Please request an official score report of the relevant language tests (i.e. IELTS or TOEFL) to be sent directly by the issuing authorities. The code of EdUHK in TOEFL is 5225.
- As issuing authorities will not send score reports for tests done outside the validity period, please provide an officially certified true copy of your IELTS / TOEFL score reports to us by post.
- If you have other supporting documents claimed in your application (e.g. HKCAAVQ report, deed poll, and letter certifying the medium of instruction, etc), please submit an officially certified true copy of those documents.
(III) Applicants from Universities in Hong Kong and Other Countries
- If you obtained degree(s) from universities in Hong Kong and/or other countries, please apply an official transcript (either in form of hardcopy or electronic copy showing the graduation status) to be sent directly to EdUHK from the issuing universities / authorities
- If you are currently in the final year of your Master study, please submit the final transcript / testimonial showing the graduation status to us in July or once available
- The University reserves the right to request applicants to submit an officially certified true copy of those documents or present those documents in ORIGINAL copy at a later stage if deemed necessary
- If the medium of instruction of your master’s degree is not English, please request an official score report of the relevant language tests (i.e. IELTS or TOEFL) to be sent directly by the issuing authorities. The code of EdUHK in TOEFL is 5225.
