EdUHK Delegation Visits the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Macquarie University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-hin, Vice President (Research & Development) of the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Hong Kong, China, recently led a delegation to visit the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Macquarie University in Australia. The visit coincided with EdUHK\u2019s International Outreach Study Programme at UNSW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EdUHK delegation met with senior members of Sydney-based universities, including Professor Tony Loughland, Head of School (Education) at UNSW and Professor Deborah Youdell,  Dean of the Macquarie School of Education at Macquarie University. The EdUHK delegation also exchange ideas with other scholars from the two universities regarding future academic and research collaborations. The potential collaborative areas with UNSW and Macquarie include a 3-month attachment programme for PhD students, an intensive course for our Master of Education students, dual degree programmes at both masters and doctoral levels, and joint research projects and publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EdUHK and UNSW students meanwhile participated in an intensive four-day doctoral graduate knowledge exchange programme focusing on academic skills and networking. Workshops with leading UNSW scholars covered qualitative and quantitative research approaches, thesis writing, publishing and scholarly communication. Students from both universities honed their presentation skills and developed their networks during workshops and gatherings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combining the exchange programme with a visit by senior EdUHK academics has enriched ties between institutions and students. The delegation was able to observe first-hand the benefits of the student exchange while strengthening academic and research collaboration. The visit reinforces EdUHK\u2019s commitment to enhancing students’ global perspective through the International Outreach Study Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
