1. 入學條件

申請人一般須持有認可的學士學位或同等學歷。通過初步遴選者或須要出席面試及筆試。

如申請人持有的入學資格如由非以英語授課的院校頒發,一般須符合其中一項最低英語水平要求

  • 雅思國際英語測試系統(IELTS)總分6.0或以上;或
  • 中等教育普通證書(GCSE )或普通教育文憑普通程度(GCE OL)英語等級C或以上; 或
  • 網上托福考試(TOEFL)總成績80分或以上;或
  • 近兩年內有效之國家大學英語六級考試(CET-6)總分430或以上;或
  • 其他同等資歷 。

學術英語專業的申請者則一般需要符合以下任何一項的英語能力的最低要求:

  • 雅思國際英語測試系統(IELTS)總分6.5 分(單項得分不可低於6.0)或以上;或
  • 網上托福考試(TOEFL)總成績90 分或以上;或
  • 其他同等資歷 。

IELTS/TOEFL/CET6 test results should be valid within two years; and should be taken in test centres. For example, if the applicants are applying for the 2025/26 academic year, the IELTS / TOEFL / CET6 test must be obtained on or after 1 January 2023.

Individual Area of Focus may have different entrance requirements, please refer to individual Area of Focus for details.

Students who have relevant postgraduate qualifications may be eligible to apply for credit transfer from some courses.

2. Submission of Application

Applicants can submit their application online at http://www.eduhk.hk/acadprog/online/.

The University does not accept paper applications. Please read through the important notes contained in the “Online Application – Guided Tour” and visit the relevant website(s) before starting the online application process.

Application fee for local applicants and non-local applicants is HK$150 and HK$300 respectively which is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the programme in question is cancelled by the University. Upon successful submission of application, applicants will receive an application acknowledgement by email.

3. Documents to be Submitted

Please upload the scanned copies of the following supporting documents to your online application account (http://www.eduhk.hk/acadprog/online/). Unless otherwise required, you are not required to send the original transcript(s) or certified true copy of documents to Graduate School during the application stage.

Academic Documents
Applicants from different backgrounds are required to upload various supporting documents:

  • Graduates from Mainland Universities:
    • A colored PDF scanned copy of the following documents:
      i) Degree certificate (學位證書 – 中文原件掃描)
      ii) Degree verification report (學位在線驗證報告) [Sample] valid for 6 months
      iii) Graduation certificate (畢業證書– 中文原件掃描)
      iv) Graduation verification report (學歷證書電子註冊備案表) [Sample] valid for 6 months
      v) Final transcript (最終成績單– 中文原件掃描) 
  • Final-year Students:
    • A colored scanned copy of the latest transcript and testimonial certifying your current student status and expected graduation date.
  • EdUHK/HKIEd Graduates:
    • You are not required to submit any copies of academic transcript(s) and certificate(s) issued by EdUHK/ HKIEd.
    • For qualifications obtained in other universities or institutions after graduating from EdUHK, submission of transcript(s) and certificate(s) are still required.
  • Graduates from Other Universities/Institutions in Hong Kong and Other Regions:
    • A colored scanned copy of degree certificate and final transcript showing your completion of the qualification(s).
    • A valid Overseas Credentials Evaluation Report (國(境)外學歷學位認證書) [Sample] issued by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) (中國留學服務中心) for Mainland applicants.

Proof of English Proficiency

  • A colored scanned copy of a valid English language test report (e.g. IELTS / TOFEL / CET6 report).
  • A colored certified letter confirming the medium of instruction of your entrance qualification is in English.

Additional Supporting Documents

  • Assessment report from the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), if necessary.
  • Some master’s degree programmes may stipulate additional requirements for admissions. For details, please refer to Additional Supporting Documents.

4. Interview and Admission Results

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend admission interviews / tests. An applicant who has not been invited to an interview shall not assume that he/she is not being considered for admission.

Applicants will be informed of their application status, such as application acknowledgement, interview arrangements, etc., via their registered e-mail.  

Successful applicants will receive individual notifications email. Applicants who wish to accept the admission offer will be required to indicate their acceptance of the offer directly through the Online Application System (http://www.eduhk.hk/acadprog/online/). Applicants who have not been offered admission before the commencement of the programme may assume their applications unsuccessful. No individual notifications will be sent to unsuccessful or waitlisted applicants.

5. Credit Transfer

Credit transfer may be granted to students in recognition of their prior learning experiences.

Students may submit an application from the date of programme registration till the first two weeks of each semester in each academic year. For courses on offer in the summer semester (if any), applications should be submitted one week before the commencement of the semester. Late applications will only be considered on condition that there was enough time to complete the application process (normally 4 weeks) before the end of the courses concerned.

Please read the Policy and the Guidelines on Credit Transfer listed on Registry’s website (https://www.eduhk.hk/re/) and consult your Programme Leader / Subject Coordinator before submitting an application.

6. Double Registration

Students who are enrolled in any full-time award bearing programmes (lasting for one year or longer) of the University are not permitted to simultaneously register for another qualification at this University or a post-secondary qualification at another institution except with prior approval of the University. Violation of this regulation may lead to discontinuation of studies from the University.

In case of doubt, please seek advice from the Board of Graduate Studies (via the Graduate School).

7. Right of Access To and Correction of Information

In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, applicants have the right of access to and correction of the information contained in their application, and the right to request a copy of such data.

If applicants wish to do so, they may submit their request in writing to the Master of Education programme team.
