{"id":2621,"date":"2025-03-23T16:53:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T08:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gs.eduhk.hk\/?post_type=event-highlight&#038;p=2621"},"modified":"2025-10-27T09:54:54","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T01:54:54","slug":"education-teaching-and-administration-training-course-2","status":"publish","type":"event-highlight","link":"https:\/\/gs.eduhk.hk\/zh-hans\/event-highlight\/education-teaching-and-administration-training-course-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Education, Teaching, and Administration Training Course"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><br>Yuanpei College, Peking University, and The Education University of Hong Kong Co-organize Education, Teaching, and Administration Training Course&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Graduate School and The Global Affairs Office of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Hong Kong, China are collaborating with Yuanpei College, Peking University, China, to host the Education, Teaching, and Administration Training Course from March 19 to 23, 2025. Attendees were welcomed by the Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Michelle Gu Mingyue, on March 20. In her opening speech, Prof Gu focused on the current state of higher education institutions in Hong Kong, as well as EdUHK\u2019s contributions to the field. She noted that EdUHK scholars were named in Stanford University\u2019s 2024 World\u2019s Top 2% Scientists List, underscoring the University\u2019s academic excellence. Additionally, Prof Gu outlined the multidisciplinary academic departments within EdUHK\u2019s faculties and emphasized the institution\u2019s numerous collaborative partnerships with organisations worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The opening ceremony allowed attendees to recognise that EdUHK is a high-quality institution centered on education and renowned for its outstanding academic strength and global influence. EdUHK\u2019s performance, particularly in the field of education, is especially exceptional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following Prof Gu\u2019s overview, EdUHK colleagues discussed specific aspects of teaching, learning and student support. Counselors Ms Sharon Cheng and Ms Tina Tsang delivered a thematic presentation and sharing session titled \u201cCultivating Students\u2019 Physical and Mental Well-being.\u201d Dr David Kang Jong Hyuk focused on the General Education curriculum at EdUHK. Dr Kang outlined the University\u2019s postgraduate programmes, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Philosophy (MPhil), Doctor of Education (EdD), and Master of Education (MEd), including their admission requirements, programme structures, and scholarship opportunities. He also discussed EdUHK\u2019s overseas exchange programs, academic research skills training, and whole person development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training course is helping administrative staff from Yuanpei College understand EdUHK\u2019s diverse programme offerings, research skills development frameworks, and student focus. The course aims to enable the two institutions to further explore future administrative support, such as enhancing psychological counseling services for students.
