She expressed hope for strengthened collaboration between the two universities. Professor Michelle Gu Mingyue, Dean of EdUHK\u2019s Graduate School, extended gratitude to SDU and highlighted the shared vision in&nbsp;<em>New Liberal Arts<\/em>&nbsp;development as the foundation for this online forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keynote Presentations &amp; Highlights<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professor Chen Zhumin<\/strong>, Deputy Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence at SDU, delivered a presentation on&nbsp;<em>Advances in AI Large Model Technology and Empowerment of Education.<\/em>&nbsp;Using DeepSeek as an example, he elaborated on the collaborative application of AI technology in educational scenarios and proposed a ternary educational model of \u201cTeacher-AI-Student\u201d interaction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr Kevin Yung Wai Ho<\/strong>, Associate Professor from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction (C&amp;I) at EdUHK, shared his team\u2019s research on&nbsp;<em>Empowering university students\u2019 academic reading and writing literacy through generative artificial intelligence<\/em>. Dr Yung proposed the \u201cGUIDE-S\u201d pedagogy framework, encompassing six dimensions: Ground, Utilise, Inspect, Demonstrate, Establish accountability, and Students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr Yu Zhiyuan<\/strong>, Assistant Dean of SDU\u2019s School of Journalism and Communication, shared SDU\u2019s experiences in constructing an AI-based experimental teaching system for journalism and communication, featuring a curriculum system that integrates all media and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr Joy Yang Lan, Dr Pei Leisi and Dr Ba Shen<\/strong>&nbsp;collectively discussed&nbsp;<em>AI-Powered Educational Assessment<\/em>,&nbsp;covering formative evaluation, EEG-driven personalised learning, and AI analytics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Roundtable Discussion: AI and Educational Transformation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholars debated how AI reshapes talent development.&nbsp;Prof Chen (SDU) advocated for&nbsp;digital thinking as a core competency,&nbsp;while Dr Pei (EdUHK) emphasised&nbsp;learners\u2019 ability to collaborate with AI.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Q&amp;A Highlights<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants raised questions on AI\u2019s role in disciplinary expansion and collaborative learning. Key responses included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dr Joy Yang Lan<\/strong>&nbsp;on dynamic assessment for knowledge extension.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Kevin Yung Wai Ho<\/strong>&nbsp;on AI\u2019s dual role in&nbsp;de-skilling and re-skilling&nbsp;educators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dr Yu Zhiyuan<\/strong>&nbsp;on AI\u2019s applications in smart media production and public opinion analysis, sparking discussions on&nbsp;digital reconstruction of journalism workflows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow-Up Events<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This online seminar marked the&nbsp;<em>New Liberal Arts<\/em>&nbsp;series\u2019 initial session.
